With the active support of EC-OE, our member HATEOA, recently succeeded in stopping the Greek government from including Outdoor Leisure Activities to a new national law by the Ministry of Sports entitled “Sports Volunteering, Leisure Sports and Sports for All, Spiritual Sports, Electronic Sports (e-sports), Work Sports and other amendments to the sports legislation”. Mr. Stefanos Sidiropoulos, president of HATEOA, met with the Greek Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Tourism and parliamentarians to clarify the difference between the 2 economic Sectors: The Outdoor Sector and the Sport Sector. He stressed the importance of Outdoor service providers for the Greek touristic business and insisted on the fact that Τhe Outdoor Sector is sufficiently identified to be considered as a different independent sector.
